Calamansi Calamari @McCormick Philippines I’m a sour lover, and if you’re into that bold, mouth-puckering flavor that hits right away, you’re going to love this. Enjoy bold, consistent sourness in every bite with McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix. No more squeezing or peeling. Just mix and season your dish to your heart’s content. It comes in three bold flavors: Lime, Calamansi, and Tamarind. Experience the Sour Power in everything: grills, marinades, sauces, soups, even drinks. Sour has never been this easy. INGREDIENTS: - Calamansi Calamari - 500g of frozen squid rings - ⅓ cup soy sauce - ⅓ cup mirin - 2 tbsp garlic powder - 2 tbsp onion powder - 1 tbsp white pepper - 2 eggs - ¾ cup rice flour - ¾ cup tempura flour - For the dry breading - 2 cups of sweet potato starch and water to form bits - McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix (CALAMANSI) Tamarind Iced-Tea: - 6-8 black tea bags, steeped for 10 minutes - Simple syrup to taste - McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix (TAMARIND) Simple Lime Ranch: - mayonnaise - sour cream - spring onions - Worcestershire sauce - Salt and pepper to taste - McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix (LIME) INSTRUCTIONS: - Marinate the squid rings in everything under “Calamansi Calamari” except for the dry breading. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. - Make the dry breading by placing sweet potato starch into a bowl and add water and hand mix to form little bits. Coat each squid ring in the dry breading and fry at 165C for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool, while you allow the temperature to climb to 180C and fry again for around 1-2 minutes to get that extra crunchy layer. - To make the ranch, place everything under “Simple Lime Ranch” into a bowl and mix to combine. - Lastly for the tamarind iced tea, brew some black tea, allow to cool and add simple syrup and your McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix (TAMARIND) until the flavor is to your liking. - Lastly, take your fried calamari, and place into a mixing bowl and coat with a layer of McCormick Sour Seasoning Mix (CALAMANSI). Toss until all pieces are coated. - Serve all three and enjoy! #IMadeItWithMcCormick #FlexYourSour #McCormickSourSeasoningMix
