The nest and the habitat around it is all on Federal land a few miles away from Moon Camp. It's already protected.

WTH? So the person who wanted the $10 million lives there in a house who wanted to keep the view exclusively for himself. We were led to believe that that area would be maintained in perpetuity. But now that’s not true. Boy were people misled! I guess the only thing that can be done now is that area gets left alone, right? And it sounds like money that was supposed to be set aside for maintenance, has been absconded basically right?

I believe leaving it alone is the most beneficial thing whether it makes the homeowners happy or not. Humans disturb more than enough nature because too many of us think we are entitled to do so. Leave it alone for all of the flora and fauna in that area. That being said, the cameras, wherever they may be placed, are to be maintained properly if FOBBV wants donations and merch purchases.

This has been very educational and informative. Pretty pissed that we were mislead about Moon Camp but glad I have this info now and can research independently. I guess we should have done that sooner. .

Nothing more inspiring than a lawyer with a BBV house leading the charge to make sure nobody else gets a view. Gotta love the mooncamp fund kicked off by a guy who already got his piece. Not a legal strategy I was prepared for.

I don’t understand why the state can’t just protect it. Big Bear is developed enough, they can’t even get ppl to stay there outside of summer and winter months. It’s mostly deserted even in the developed parts, just codify it as preservation for eagles and move on.

So could we create our own group to put in other cameras? I always knew there were issues and history with this land. Not sure they care about the cameras anymore since there’s no need for them anymore for them (my speculation on their opinion).
