when my fiance and i were looking to adopt a dog, I went to the west valley humane society and told them I had 4 cats and i needed a dog who was confirmed to be good around cats and if they didnt have any, id wait until they did. they brought this beautiful girl to me and told me she didnt even look twice at cats. she actually couldn't look AWAY from them, and wanted to eat them. she also didnt get along with any other dogs either. I tried to train her and be patient past the "return" date because I wanted to give her a chance but unfortunately it was no use, and I had to eat the adoption costs to re-surrender her. the only thing they updated about her profile after I gave her back was that she loved water, they didnt mention a single behavior that someone should know before adopting and I can only hope it was discussed in person.

Its really hard trying to find help with dogs who have issues. I have been trying to rehome or find a rescue for my dog because with our life style we just aren't capable of properly handling him. we even spent thousands on training. But he is extremely reactive with aggression and we have kids. The humane society told me he would be euthanized if I surrendered him.

I may be confused. Did she come from out of state? Why don’t you just take her to IHS? It’s an amazing facility and they do such a great job. They’ll find her a good home.

What a gorgeous pup! Have you tried Rilos Rescue? I’ve fostered for them in the past and I know they take surrenders. You could also try posting in the fb group “208 Helping All Animals” but please charge a surrender fee, do a home check and ask for a vet reference for rehoming because there are dog fighting rings in the area that take dogs to use for bait :(

Something I’ve learned is the treasure valley isn’t helpful in any aspect, animals, noise complaints, harassment, homelessness nothing. The police are terrible, the shelters are terrible. Animal control is terrible everything is terrible haha hate living here but beautiful dog
