@theargentgroup: OpenAI has teamed up with Abu Dhabi's oil company ADNOC and technology company G42 to bring AI into the oil and gas industry. The agreement was announced on November 2 at the ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi. The companies plan to use AI agents to help with oil-field planning, production and business decisions. One of the main goals is to speed up oil-field planning. ADNOC says the AI system could reduce work that normally takes months to just a few hours by analyzing information from thousands of oil wells and underground reservoirs. The technology will also help analyze oil production, transport, market demand and prices to support business decisions. The system will use OpenAI's AI models and G42's computing infrastructure in the UAE. Human experts will remain involved in important decisions. ADNOC says it already has more than 200 AI applications and 70 robotics use cases deployed or under development. The companies have not revealed how much the partnership is worth or when all the systems will be fully introduced.
