Honest with myself and admit that giving so much of myself to the people and pleasures of this world has left me empty inside. I gave my time, my energy, my heart, and sometimes even my identity to people who could not truly fill the emptiness within me. I searched for love in temporary relationships, validation in the opinions of others, and comfort in things that only satisfied me for a moment. Yet after giving myself away again and again, I was still left asking why my soul felt so empty. The truth is that no person was ever meant to take the place of Christ in my heart. People can disappoint me, relationships can change, and the things of this world can disappear, but Jesus remains faithful. John 4:14 says, “Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.” I kept searching for something in the world that only Christ could truly give me. I was pouring myself into broken things and wondering why I still felt broken. But now I understand that my soul does not need more of what leaves me empty, I need more of Jesus. Giving myself to Christ means surrendering the parts of me that I have been giving to everyone else. My heart belongs to Him. My pain belongs before Him. My future, my desires, my fears, and even the emptiness I cannot explain—I can bring all of it to Jesus. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” I do not have to continue exhausting myself trying to earn love from people who cannot give me what only God can provide. This does not mean I should stop loving people, but it means I must stop making people my source of identity, worth, and salvation. I can love others without losing myself in them. I can care for people without giving them the place in my heart that belongs to Christ. The more I surrender myself to Jesus, the more I begin to understand who I truly am. I do not want to spend the rest of my life giving everything I have to this world while giving the Lord only what is left of me. I want to give Christ my whole heart, not because I have nowhere else to go, but because I have finally realized that He is where my soul has always needed to be. Lord Jesus, I come before You feeling empty after giving so much of myself to the people and things of this world. I searched for love, acceptance, and fulfillment in places that could never truly heal my soul. Forgive me for the times I placed people above You and looked to temporary things for what only You can give. I am tired of pouring myself into things that leave me empty. Today, I want to give myself to You. Take my heart, my pain, my desires, my future, and everything I have been carrying alone. Teach me to love others without losing myself and to care for people without making them my source of worth. Fill the emptiness within me with Your presence, Your truth, and Your love. Help me stop chasing what fades away and begin living for what is eternal. I surrender myself to You, Lord. I do not want to give You the leftovers of my life. I want to give You my whole heart. Lead me, restore me, and teach me to find my identity and fulfillment in Christ alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen #christianity #christianrelationships #christianposts #jesusistheway #jesussaves
