Snow has to be one of the greatest villains there is. He’s so well written and Donald Sutherland played him perfectly

The thing that fucked me up is Snow never lied to her. He was honest through the whole thing.

There’s a reason Coin didn’t want Katniss to see Snow but Paylor did

It was the first respect among enemies, they had promised to never lie to one another. He kept his word as she played the game. But in the End, Katniss realized Coin had to die.

This killed me because she did all this originally to protect prim. She didn’t wanna be the Mockingjay. She just wanted to save her sister, and in the end she couldn’t even do that.

No other actor could’ve given the performance he did. Phenomenal actor, couldn’t see anyone else as snow.

In absolute fairness, he never really grew a habit of lying. deceptive? Sure. Cruel? Manipulative? Maybe a smidge cynical? Sure. And Snow has his reasons if you’d ask him. But he actually proved more to be more honest than Coin

I remember when I first watched it. You didn't want to believe him. But there was a hint of disappointment in his voice. Not quite grief. But disappointment. If you're enemy claims that they're morally in the right compared to you then the last thing you'd want to see is for them to stoop to a level worse than you. He tried to warn Katniss about Coin since part 1. She wouldn't listen. He knew he had to die for the world to change. That's why he didn't bother struggling. But he needed Katniss whom he respected from a certain regard to know the truth. He needed her to know that his world would not end with him if she allowed someone far worse take his place. I can understand that type of losing. I can respect it. His perspective is that he did everything in his power to make the system efficient, functional, and productive... but even in his youth he could see the flaws of it's constituents and that no one was truly happy. Katniss was the face of the hope of wanting something better. He wanted to lose to someone who could and would propose something better than what he already built. Someone with constructive thinking without the naivety that comes with excessive empathy. Coin wasn't any of those. She wanted change who was in position power and control and for the system to serve her benefit and the benefit of those who support her. But Katniss and people who supported her were. This is one of my favorite interactions between them.

Non canon. What if snow tested Katniss and she was a positive for his dna. What if he knew she and prim were part of his line but he was so evil and determined that it was never released because he kept it hidden. And with every achievement Katniss made he was equally proud and terrified. And when prim was murdered he was genuinely torn because he knew she was his family and even though he used her and Katniss as pawns he never intended for Primm to meet her end.
