@hotnew73: D. Trump Jr. Claims Democrats “Want to Make Ohio a State” at a Campaign Event in Swanton, Ohio D. Trump Jr., 48, made a mistaken claim at a campaign event on Monday, Nov. 2. The event was held by Vice President JD Vance in Swanton, Ohio. He listed what he says Democratic candidates want to do. “They want to pack the Supreme Court. They want to make Ohio a state, make DC a state, have permanent one-party rule,” he said. He did not explain how Democrats could do that on their own. Ohio has been a state since 1803. According to the National Archives, it became the 17th state on Feb. 19 of that year. He also called the current Democratic frontrunners “the most radical people ever put forth by the Democrat[ic] party.” Then he criticized Ohio governor candidate Dr. Amy Acton, accusing her of alchol abse. An ad paid for by a political action committee made a similar claim. Politifact called it false. It cited her 1994 medical license application, where she answered “yes” when asked about treatment for an alcohol problem, among other things. Her campaign told the outlet that answer referred to outpatient therapy after childhood sexual ab*se. Acton, 60, faces Republican Vivek Ramaswamy in a tense race. In October, he ran an attack ad featuring her estranged mother. It has since been taken down. Acton’s stepfather was charged in 1978 with the r*pe of Acton, then 12. He pleaded not guilty and became a fugitive. He died in 2004. “You guys have the ability to stop all of that tomorrow,” Trump Jr. said. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Do you think candidates should fact-check themselves before speaking at rallies? #DonaldTrumpJr #ohio #amyacton #VivekRamaswamy #Election2026
