@love.for.paws18: Peter came to us after being brutally beaten and abandoned in the rain. Whoever hurt him struck his abdomen so severely that his skin and tissue are now badly damaged. But looking at him, you would never understand how anyone could do that. He has the gentlest face. The kind of eyes that look at people without fear or anger, as though he still believes humans are supposed to be kind to him.And somehow, that makes his condition even harder to look at. When Peter was brought to the hospital, the doctor initially suspected a hernia after examining his X-ray. But once the fur around his abdomen was shaved for a closer examination, the reality became much clearer. There were visible red marks from severe blunt-force trauma across his stomach. Even more concerning, the skin around the injured area has become so damaged and fragile that it can begin to separate with even slight tension. That is why surgery cannot safely be performed yet. His skin first needs enough time to heal and regain strength. Otherwise, even surgical sutures may simply tear through the damaged tissue. For now, the doctors are trying to stabilise the area and help the skin heal before deciding on the next step. For the person who hurt Peter, it may have been only a few minutes of anger.For Peter, those few minutes have become days of pain, hospitalisation, treatment and an uncertain recovery.
