What He Really Means :
Exclusive after 5 dates seems crazy to me. I don’t think it’s possible to actually “mean something” to anyone that fast and you can’t know enough about a person that fast to know if you want to really be in a relationship with them.

5 dates to be exclusive is odd. They barely know each other. They both should want to get to know each other better but it’s not my relationship. If they are happy, enjoy. He did handle it well though, not making demands and having a healthy discussion .

As long as you aren’t married, you aren’t really exclusive to each other right? Ofc you can just make promises to each other but in most cultures, if you see a ring on someone’s finger, you know that person is taken. It’s like a sign you wear for other people. Also it’s known worldwide that it’s not done to try something with a person that has a ring on their finger

Man you can tell Dating is weird now to see how many think a month in is weird to be exclusive or a couple! I think that’s about when it has happened for me always. That’s plenty of time to decide you’re going to see how something goes and that you’re more interested in that person than a random person. I fear people who think it’s too soon have not actually been into the people they’re dating
