This is the prayer that Sister Anna Maria OSF @franziskanerinnen_von_s prays so often and right now, she is surely praying it for the health of our Pope Leo XIV, too. After a malignant tumor was discovered, part of the Pope's lung had to be removed. Thankfully, he is already on the road to recovery. And we know that prayer matters: people all around the world are praying for him, even (breaking news) Donald Trump has expressed his wish for the Pope to get well soon. The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi before the Cross of San Damiano Dating back to 1206, this famous prayer was prayed by St. Francis during a time of searching, uncertainty, and profound change in his life. According to tradition, as the 25-year-old Francis prayed before the crucifix of San Damiano, he heard the Lord calling him: "Francis, go and repair my house, which, as you can see, is falling into ruin." These words marked the beginning of his conversion and changed the course of his life forever. Today, this prayer continues to inspire countless people to seek God's will and surrender their lives to Him. Let us pray this prayer for Pope Leo XIV, for all the sick, and for everyone who needs God's strength and healing. Do you pray the Prayer of St. Francis? Share your intentions below.
