🍔 Giant Burger Cooking is even more enjoyable with a good set of non-stick pans! 🍳Here’s some good news! @Redchef Home is getting ready for Black Friday & Cyber Monday with discounts starting at 30% from November 19–30! 🥰 🔥Check it out here: https://bit.ly/3WeM8rs Ingredients (makes 8 regular buns or 1 giant bun) 500 g all-purpose flour 10 g dry yeast 300 ml milk 40 g sugar 8 g salt 60 g butter 1 egg (60 g) For the egg wash and topping 1 egg yolk 15 ml milk Sesame seeds Combine the warm(not hot) milk, 1 teaspoon of sugar (taken from the total amount), and dry yeast. Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes, until the yeast activates and a foamy layer forms on the surface. Add the remaining sugar, salt, melted butter, egg, and milk-yeast mixture to the flour. Mix everything together and knead the dough for about 5 minutes. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for approximately 1.5 hours, or until it has noticeably increased in volume. Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down and shape it into one large ball, just like I did in the video. If you prefer regular-sized burger buns, divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each one into a smooth ball. Mix the egg yolk with 15 ml of milk. Gently brush the tops of the buns with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cover the shaped dough and let it rise again. Regular-sized buns will need approximately 30 minutes, while one giant bun will need about 1 hour. The dough should noticeably increase in size. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake until fully cooked. If you’re making one giant burger bun like mine, you can slightly reduce the temperature to 170°C (338°F) and increase the baking time, since a large bun takes significantly longer to bake than smaller ones. You can check for doneness using a wooden skewer or a kitchen thermometer. The internal temperature in the center of the bun should reach approximately 95°C (203°F). If the top of your bun is already nicely browned but the inside still needs more time, you can loosely cover it with aluminum foil and continue baking. I didn’t need to do this because my bun baked evenly and developed a beautiful golden-brown color. Once baked, let the bun cool slightly in the baking pan, then transfer it to a wire rack and allow it to cool completely. Once fully cooled, slice it and use it to make your favorite burgers. Enjoy! ❤️
