I fly every week. Commercial airline would not fly within 200 miles of that storm. What in the world were they skirting the red for?????

If they were going to the Bahamas why would they go into the storm and why would they turn that direction?

Why did they head northeast instead of keeping the heading and cutting across the lower side of Florida and then go northeast to the Bahamas?

This is a horrific tragedy. My deepest condolences to all the families who lost loved ones. Where was the pilot, and why can’t his voice be heard in the exchange between the tower and the cockpit?

If anyone has seen The day after tomorrow when everything freezes on contact is the same effect as soon as they reports precipitation…. Then climbing to a higher elevation where the air is thinner and icing occurs faster

Did I hear the co pilot state it was -47 degrees? It is odd that there was rain coupled with the ice. I’ve been there to a degree so it’s not uncommon but it does seem unusual. But it can happen. But the life of the storms can cause the moisture to also ice up. Perhaps. Either way, as a FAA brat, I don’t fly. I learned and saw way Wayne too much over the 53 years daddy investigated crashes. Nope.
