Isaiah Bradley deserves so much more respect also Bucky doesn’t get upset at what Isaiah said because he understood and he isn’t entirely wrong. Atonement attempts don’t change the past and if the public decided to turn on him he wouldn’t be able to fix that.

People really need to invest in learning nuance. Like you said, Isaiah doesn’t know all of what Bucky’s been through. And yes, it can hurt hearing him say certain things to Bucky knowing how much it probably affects him viewing himself as a monster. Because we get to know his story. But Isaiah doesn’t, and Isaiah also went through heinous torture and experimentation. Bucky doesn’t get a pass to be angsty and sad and grieving his life he never had if Isaiah doesn’t. He could’ve crashed out way harder and I would’ve been like “that’s so valid.” People are WILD. Like idk how they couldn’t see his point too. Bucky literally AGREES with him. As does Sam. And like you said, he was RIGHT. And they’re proving him right. If the winter soldier was black, he wouldn’t get a redemption arc. Let alone get to be a government representative. He’d have probably been put down like an animal. Same with Cap, even now we see the fandom prove his point when people refuse to acknowledge Sam as cap and when the doomsday trailer dropped and they went “finally, my cap is back.” GOD this made me so mad reading that comment. 😭 I hate this kind of treatment of shit in general, but it’s even worse when the info is RIGHT there and they’re blind to it and still choose to act this way. I’m loosing brain cells. I’m loosing lifespan. What the hell!!!

I don’t like the tone the show as a whole took towards Bucky’s past and that line is a part of that tone, but it makes sense Isaiah the character to believe that and say that to Bucky and I don’t hold it against him and neither does Bucky in-universe 😭

because another thing about that scene is that, to ME, it feels like Isaiah isn’t just talking about Bucky in that scene. he’s also talking about himself. about how Bucky, who, as the Winter Soldier, has done terrible things, is forgiven, but he, who is innocent was severely punished. literally goes on to say “you know what they’d do to ME for being a hero?” like bro it’s not (just) about Bucky PERSONALLY, same as when we says to Sam “they will never let a BLACK MAN bc CA” it’s not about Sam the individual it’s about the race relations in the USA and the greater world
