Every single communist society has gone through dictatorship because that is quite literally one of the characteristics of communism...Karl Marx defended that the proletariat dictatorship was a transitional phase onto a true communist society. Thing is, no communist country ever surpassed the dictatorship. How can you say that a society built upon forcing people to give away everything they own to live in absolute misery isn't a dictatorship?

“Elected every single time” do you know that in Yugoslavia there was voting, but if you voted for the communist side you just had to write it, but if you voted against it you would had to take a metal ball and the put it in. His offers to resign don't change the fact that he systematically eliminated political opposition, consolidated absolute power, and oversaw purges that resulted in hundreds of thousands of executions. His policies also contributed to the Holodomor, which killed millions of Ukrainians. Being appointed to a position doesn't mean you can't become a dictator. Educate yourself on the historical facts before trying to rewrite history.
