@theventure: At 12, Mark Cuban wanted a new pair of basketball shoes. He asked his dad, who was playing poker with his friends. His dad told him the shoes he had worked fine, and when he had a job, he could buy whatever he wanted. Mark asked how a 12-year-old was supposed to get a job. One of the poker players had boxes of garbage bags. Mark bought them for $3 a box and sold them door to door for $6. As a teenager he sold stamps and coins too, once turning 50 cents into $50 at a stamp show. Twelve years later, when he was fired for making a sale, he knew he could sell.
