@stephaniefchase: #Highlights Graydon Sealy Performing Arts Ensemble performs “Dat Iz Uh Bajan Saying” at the CIBC Caribbean NIFCA 2026 Performing Arts Junior Finals. Written and directed by theatre arts educator Stephanie F. Chase this dub poem celebrates the unique linguistic diversity that lies within Bajan Dialect. Our language and the way we speak is a reflection of our cultural identity and social background. Bajan (or Bajan Creole) is an English‑based creole spoken in Barbados, with West African and British influences, its own grammar, and widespread everyday use across the island. As we celebrate 60 years of independence, let us remember that the Bajan dialect has played a significant role in shaping national identity and preserving cultural traditions. Tonight, we celebrate our young talent at NIFCA, as Barbados marks 60 years of Independence and five years as a Republic 🇧🇧 #NCFBarbados #NIFCA2026 #NIFCA #TheTraditionOfExcellenceContinues
