This happened once to my sister growing up. My mother came and picked her and the kid up and dropped the kid at the police station with the parents info and explained what was going on. The parents were PIIIIISSED.

I had this happen to me as a teenager except the parents left me with their kids for 3 days when it was only suppose to be an evening!!!! They took off in their boat to their cabin and left me with their 2 small children for THREE DAYS.

I was taught in childcare that you should always prepare for an emergency so should always be prepared to stay longer than scheduled. You don’t schedule something crucial like another job assignment so close after a childcare shift. So I’m kind of more on the parents’ side for this reason.

this is awful but I think she handled it so well. As a parent who doesn't have help like this and struggles to find sitters my heart goes out to her. there are definitely parents out there who will appreciate all that she does as a sitter I hope she connect ls with them instead
