@bluetsunami2026: “The Heart” is literally pulse-pounding and heart wrenching. It chronicles the death or life story in a clever modern ultra electro-pop style. It really is gorgeous in every which way and you walk away believing that there are Gods that work in these hospitals. In essence, it’s about an organ transplant that transforms the lives of two families, but it’s so much more then that and I implore you to see this because you’ll be locked in for the whole 90 minutes and you’ll be in tears, that I promise you. The music is so infectious and electrifying and the choreography, staging, and lights are theatricalizing and dazzling that the hour and half was a perfect amount of time to tell this wonderful story. Each actor and actress played two roles I believe, but the standouts for me were the mother played by Joaquina Kalukango and nurse Cordelia played by Bre Jackson, in a show too breathless for applause breaks, these two ladies vocals were off the charts! This is a no-brainer, skip your next botox and watch this musical that will pull at your heartstrings. It’s playing through December 13th at The Laura Pels Theatre.
