William Aviles, 16, a tight end and defensive lineman for North High School in Bakersfield, California, was sh*ot around 3:35 AM on Saturday, October 31, at a Halloween house party in the 3500 block of South Half Moon Drive in southwest Bakersfield. Police found him suffering from severe gunshot injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he later d*ed. His school football team said his "life, memory, and impact will never be forgotten." His family's fundraiser describes him as "a force of nature" with "a bigger-than-life, magnetic personality" — a boy who grew up with very little in a proud, hard-working household with his mom, dad, and three little sisters who, in the fundraiser's words, "absolutely worshiped him." NO suspect has been identified. Bakersfield police say numerous bystanders witnessed and recorded the sh*oting, and they are now hunting for party footage, urging anyone with video to come forward to Detective Matthew Guerra at 661-326-3872 or Bakersfield Police at 661-327-7111. This comes just months after another Bakersfield teen football player, 17-year-old quarterback Levi Brown, was fatally sh*ot in late August. Police are begging for the party videos. If YOU had filmed that night, would you hand your video to police — YES or NO? 👇 #bakersfield #california #highschoolfootball #breakingnews #justiceforwilliam - @thenewsscrolll
