Haven't read Worm yet but my biggest complaint about MHA fights were that mostly it was just one character using one big attack after another. Visually cool cos of Hori artsyle but not really interesting

Deku vs Shiggy is a great example too. A few things he does: uses low gear to bait an early swing, incorporates Fa Jin into Blackwhip, uses his punches to continually charge Fa Jin for quintuple, smokescreen for obstruction and even uses low gear on the smoke itself to slow its dispersion. The sports festival was a good one too because he literally didn’t even use his quirk in the first two competitions except once at the very end

her point really bugs me because he has ALWAYS had to use his analytical skills in fights to make up for his lack of experience in his quirk. even without this innate ability to use a quirk, he comes out on top and uses his quirks in creative ways. if he was not smart and didn’t use his analytical ability he wouldn’t have made it to where he did.

Mind you, some of his most creative with his quirk was in the battle 1. The sports festival from the obstacle course to the tournament, 2.The joint training arc, 3. The paranormal liberation war, 4. The vigilante arc, 5. The final war. And most of these moments involved times when he used either Blackwhip, float, Fa jin, gearshift, danger sense, smokescreen Or just used them all together. One thing that is constantly highlighted about Midoriya is his strategic and analytical mind on the battlefield
