Not a Pharmacist, but a CPhT. I had worked retail previously for 6 years. 5 1/2 at Walmart and 6 mos at Target( I was just seasonal). I started at the beginning of the pandemic. Nothing prepared me for what was going to go down at CVS. I ran the Covid shot clinic in my store, I had a great Pharmacist and we were staffed. Then it started. The transferred my Pharmacist to "fix" another store. All of our tecs quit but me and one other. The Pharmacist was a great person, she was a horrible manager. The people who were hired after were ok, but we never had more than two tecs during the week, on weekends it was just one tec and the Pharmacist. They also brought in a tec who absolutely destroyed our pharmacy. She destroyed moral, played favorites heavily, and because they out her in a lead position she screwed with my hours, reducing them to the point I had to go to managment, because I was full time and she was only giving me like 15 hours a week. She also basically banished me to the drive thru. I didn't mind being there at first, but all day everyday is aweful. I ended up burning out and walking out. Said tec got one of our Pharmacists fired and then it came out she had lied. The Pharmacy manager was transferred again and the entire staff was fired. The Pharmacist who had been fired sued and won a big settlement. 1 year after I walked the entire staff had been replaced twice over. The pay isn't enough to deal with being so short staffed that one person handles pick up, drop off, and drive thru, plus being yelled at while not getting scripts filled and being threatened about your shots numbers. I will never go back to retail pharmacy. I actually have ptsd from working at CVS. I honestly have so many stories I could write a book. I only worked at CVS for 4 years. Feels like 40.
