@teetjarmon: A tragic incident in Spanish soccer has left the football community mourning after CD Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel died following an on-field collision during Monday's match against FC Andorra. De Miguel was just 30 years old. 🔥 HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED: • The incident happened November 2 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. • De Miguel was chasing a long ball when FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono rushed out to challenge him. • The players collided near midfield, and De Miguel suffered cardiac arrest. • He was rushed to the hospital, but his condition deteriorated. His club confirmed his death Tuesday morning, November 3. • The goalkeeper received a straight red card, and the match was abandoned with the score tied 2–2. • Spanish police have opened an investigation into possible involuntary manslaughter. • However, prosecutors say criminal charges against the goalkeeper appear unlikely because the collision happened during a sporting event. The investigation is ongoing. 💫 A LIFE LOST DOING WHAT HE LOVED. 💬 Should professional sports leagues review their emergency medical procedures and player-safety protocols following incidents like this? Our condolences go out to Jesús de Miguel's family, teammates, friends and supporters. #JesusDeMiguel #Soccer #spain
