@jessicaventuratjl: I appreciated Erika Cheung’s words so much because I’ve experienced this firsthand. I had the facts. I had the evidence, too. And yet, somehow, I still found myself questioning my own judgment, my memory, and my understanding of what happened. I’ve often described the experience as feeling like I was in a cult of one. Not because I didn’t recognize what was happening, but because I was constantly being pulled into questioning what I knew to be true. I think that’s what makes psychological manipulation so unsettling. You don’t necessarily lose sight of the facts. You lose confidence in your ability to trust yourself, even when the evidence is right in front of you. Hearing Erika put this experience into words reminded me how difficult it is to explain to someone who hasn’t lived through it. And perhaps the hardest part is learning to trust your own judgment again, without feeling the need to constantly defend or prove what you experienced. #youcanseeeverything #thedropout #elizabethholmes #documentaries
