It was very eerie when the families started to move out!! This video makes it sound like something very bad happened, but people sold their homes and moved out. Then the fire departments use the homes for training!! Then they started to clean up everything!! it was done for all the new buildings that were going to be built. Everybody knew that.!!

Just an opinion. They have tried to reinvent the wheel with Gary, Indiana several times. Just to put it out there. Annex it and make it a part of Illinois. Act like we are doing Indiana a favor. I’m sure Indiana will be like screw it! Then turn around and make it the data center capital of the United States. Most of the ground is no good, trees are growing out of the houses, crime is up, it’s just a bad place. Instead of displacing residents who live in perfectly good homes, make Gary the data center capital. Sure people can say what about the residents of Gary? Buy their houses for 3x the price. This will get them out of poverty and off of government assistance. This is a real easy fix. Illinois needs Gary, Indiana and we need to make it the data center capital of the United States.

I grew up there with my two sisters for almost two decades just to lose the entire neighborhood and never be able to show my daughter where I grew up. Really really sad.
