In the US, the FDA does not approve hair products before they are sold, and testing costs thousands of dollars. So who spends that money on a product that isn’t theirs, and why? In this video I break down the three real reasons anyone tests another brand’s product: they are making their own version and need something to beat, a competitor wants to challenge their claims, or people got hurt. Bond builders like Olaplex and K18 have outside studies because they are the products everyone else measures against. Most professional hair products have none.
