@thebrandonrobert: I got bitten by a black widow and spent the next two hours painting my kitchen because I thought it was just a cute little spider. I was halfway through painting when I saw it. I love spiders, so I put my brush down and let it crawl onto my hand. I felt this little pinch, shook it off, and went right back to painting. I genuinely forgot about it. Two hours later I saw it again. And this time I could see underneath it. There was a little red hourglass. I looked up what happens after a black widow bite and started reading about severe muscle cramps, sweating, nausea. And I’m standing there with paint on my hands doing the math like, wait, that was two hours ago. So I left the paintbrush on the counter and went straight to the hospital. I’m literally typing this from the waiting room. I’m still waiting to hear back, and I’m starting to feel a little off. I can’t tell how much of it is me freaking myself out, but a little while ago I was standing in my kitchen thinking, “Oh my god, she’s so cute.”
