Kansas county extension says not to cook beans in a crockpot because of a toxin that has to be boiled for 30min to kill it! Especially kidney beans! Who knew?!

We do flour in ours but also use the juice from the salmon can and mix 1 tablespoon clabber girl and pour it in the mix to make them round and fluffy, not flat

Interesting. Never heard of putting flour in salmon Patties. I was taught to use crushed saltines. Will try your version. Sometimes I do fry in bacon grease for a different flavor. Thank you.
