I know your not in Australia, but here if a $10 note is torn and has more then 50% of the note left it can be legally used a $5 note. not many shops will accept it, however, banks do

I had a lady once ask me where the uncooked tortillas were. I was still kinda new so I told her I wasn’t sure we sold them. She got all huffy and said “well I bought them last week” I replied “well they are probably where they were last week”. Had a lady come in one night to Babies'R'Us with about 20 bags of mixed, loose change. We had to take them into the cash office, separate them into denominations, then use the change scale to weight them and add them up. It took almost half an hour, and the lady had the AUDACITY to be annoyed WITH US
