@momokatz7: 🚨🆘 URGENT – VETT NEEDS A HERO! 🆘🚨 💔 NODAS MED – DEADLINE: 11/4 at 11:00 AM CST 🐾 VETT – A1302503 • 3 years old • Unaltered female • 32.4 lbs • HEARTWORM HIGH POSITIVE • Stray found on Galloway Ave, Dallas, TX 🔗 ADOPETS: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/5a512427-0f83-4127-9f43-e1de1482e825 💔 VETT IS IN A MEDICAL CRISIS AND NEEDS HELP. This little girl is facing euthanasia due to severe, potentially chronic constipation that has left her unable to defecate normally without medical intervention. Vett has been extremely shut down in the shelter. She spends much of her time curled up in her kennel, avoiding eye contact and showing little interest in interacting. Staff have reported that she can be so overwhelmed and frightened that she won’t even get up when approached or allow a leash to be placed on her. But Vett deserves more than to be remembered as a frightened dog in a shelter kennel. She deserves a chance to feel safe, receive medical care, and finally decompress. 🩺 WHAT’S HAPPENING MEDICALLY? Vett has been struggling with a severely distended abdomen and a significant buildup of feces in her colon. • 10/29: Depressed, fearful, dehydrated, and not eating. Abdominal X-rays showed significant fecal buildup. She was started on fluids, lactulose, and medication to encourage eating. • 10/30: Despite passing some feces, repeat X-rays continued to show a large amount of stool in her colon. • 10/31: Still unable to pass stool normally. She required sedation and a soap-water enema, after which a large amount of firm feces was passed. • Shelter veterinary staff suspect chronic constipation related to her extreme taillessness. 🏡 Adoption: [email protected] 🐾 Foster: [email protected] ❤️ Rescue: [email protected] 📍 Dallas Animal Services 1818 N. Westmoreland Rd. Dallas, TX 75212 ⏰ DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 4 AT 11:00 AM CST Please share Vett. She is only 3 years old.
