@viralsanctuarysports: YAMAL BREAKS MBAPPÉ'S RECORD Lamine Yamal is 19 years old, and he just took a record off Kylian Mbappé. Seven minutes into Barcelona's Champions League match against Aston Villa at Camp Nou tonight, Villa keeper Zion Suzuki played a short ball out to Joao Gomes under pressure. Gomes squared it straight to Yamal, who curled it home for the opener. That goal was Yamal's 14th in the Champions League, the most by any teenager in the history of the competition, passing the 13 Mbappé scored before turning 20. The numbers behind it are absurd. Fourteen goals in 37 Champions League appearances, with 14 assists on top of that. Mbappé needed 23 games to reach his 13. And Yamal does not turn 20 until next July, so he has months left to stretch this record even further. He already has 12 goals in 14 matches across all competitions this season. Our take: records like this are supposed to belong to players in their prime. Yamal owns this one as a teenager. The scary part is not that he broke Mbappé's mark tonight. It is how much time he has left to put it out of reach for the next generational talent who comes along.
