@tomcoverlytour: 🛑STOP doing this. It’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and I want to share something personal. I’ve had moments this past year when I was already down, still majority grieving the loss of my dad and struggling behind the scenes. There were even times when I felt like giving up. Then I’d go online and see negative comments from people judging based on something they didn’t know the truth about. They had no idea what I was going through and the real reasons I chose to distance myself from toxic people to protect my own peace. But their words still hurt. Sometimes, someone else’s negativity pushed me even further down when I was already fighting to get back up. Here’s something to think about: What if the person you’re criticizing is already fighting a battle you know nothing about? You don’t have to agree with everyone, but you don’t have to tear them down either. Before you comment, judge, or repeat a rumor, STOP. Choose compassion over criticism. Kindness over assumptions. And check on the men in your life. Sometimes the ones who seem the strongest are carrying the heaviest weight. Big thanks to my true friends who checked in on me during that hard season of my life.
