Sounds like he was in the middle of doing his job but like you said in another comment you thought he was “just hanging out”. Here’s something no one ever thinks of. You have no idea what kind of day he has had or what call he just came from. Maybe he just left a call where he was performing CPR on a 5 month old baby who ultimately didn’t make it or just told someone their loved one died in a car accident. And maybe he pulled in there for a minute to process it and now you come in and honk at him because “he was parked in front of my spot at the school.” Think about that next time

His delivery could have been better for sure, but I can definitely understand why he was bothered. He was likely focused and fully attentive at that time, and taken back by your request. Traffic stops are generally safe, but there’s always a risk involved. He was likely trying to be cautious and avoid distractions.

No lights and blocking traffic in a school parking lot at drop off time… he could have moved to a better spot. I probably wouldn’t have honked but I would have tried to wave at him. I don’t blame you. He may have been doing his job, but how was anyone supposed to know that with no lights on? And he pick a bad spot to handle it.

I would not honk at a police officer. What they are doing is more important than your parking spot. You should have gotten out of the way of the traffic jam you were creating.Park somewhere else until he is done or park somewhere else. He pretty much told you what you should do differently.

I've had people try to scream at me for having my red and blues on while I was doing a field sobriety test on a drunk person who had been driving. people's entitlement astounds me. he was nice for that.
