This feels like such a slap in the face as someone who volunteered and was very close to a trustee campaign (even if it was unsuccessful). You’re telling me that they’re supposed to sit there and sign stuff on a desk? That’s such a slap in the face for anyone who ran for trustee.

Bro the ugdsb can’t even catalog anything in the libraries rn because they fired all the district lib techs. Tried for an hour to print barcodes for a box of headphones, and they removed the option from the system

So, trying to get my head around this. Would this effectively make them a policy board where they interact and direct senior management (school board management) who then implement said policy (and interact with principals and other school stakeholders? on one hand, most non profits with staff operate this way effectively. on the other hand, school board meetings, like municipal Council meetings have traditionally been a public inclusive forum and this seems to change that .

New movie theme… the trusties go undercover as teachers , support staff etc to investigate the actual conditions in schools. How can they operate with a blindfold on and restricted ability to access information? A board of trustees is legally responsible for overseeing the actions of the school board. This is a huge responsibility for a citizen. It’s like asking a lawyer to represent a client without taking to them or have court documents and statements. What a ridiculous level of suppression.😳
