I’m not a DIY expert. I just don’t have £5k for wardrobes 😂 So let’s figure out how to turn IKEA PAX wardrobes into built-in wardrobes for around £1.5k instead. We built a base so we could run our skirting board along the front for that fitted look, then added MDF to make up the height difference. A few people said to skip the base, but it made sense for the finish we wanted. And yes, we kept the carpet underneath 👀 We secured the base and it hasn’t moved. Just sharing what’s worked for us! The IKEA PAX planner made designing the inside so easy too. You can choose the drawers, shelves and hanging space to suit what you actually own. A wardrobe that accommodates my shopping habits? Lovely. And before anyone asks about the doors, because they’re always the main attraction: they’re the IKEA TONSTAD ribbed glass doors 🤎 Follow @ournewallhome to watch me figure out DIY as I go, because the budget doesn’t stretch to having someone else do it 😂 #ikeapax #ikeapaxwardrobe #builtinwardrobes #ikeahacks #newhomejourney IKEA PAX wardrobes | DIY built-in wardrobes | IKEA wardrobe hack | fitted wardrobes on a budget | IKEA TONSTAD ribbed glass doors | bedroom storage ideas | DIY bedroom makeover | affordable fitted wardrobes | UK home renovation
