I have what is called the rule of 3, I will allow you to talk about a certain subject on 3 separate occasions in length. The next 2 times we discuss it we need to be getting to a solution or at least discussing the potential outcome. It gives you the ability to be a good friend all the while guiding them to live in the solution not the problem.
