The timber posts were perfect as they were. I personally think the decking stain colour was the problem. 🙈 But, the white does look good too.

there is no definition now. the wood post againt the white house provides contrast. a white baseboard around the post to seperate the 2 different wood colours of post and deck would have worked better.
