Well, it’s safe to say we’ve had the most amazing week! As someone who had never skied before (or ever had the desire to), I had no idea what to expect… We went along with it because my brother-in-law was desperate to get the boys learning while they were still little! As well as the four of us, we had my sister and her family, my mam and dad, my aunt and uncle, my cousin and his wife, plus Matt’s parents, aunty, and stepbrother and partner—so we were quite the group, I can tell you! The boys took to it like ducks to water—me and Simon, not so much…! For those of you who saw me cross-country skiing in the Arctic this time last year, you won’t be surprised. But I was determined to learn, so I stuck at it—six days of ski school later, and by the end of the week, I managed a full blue run, and I was keeping my time spent on my bottom to a minimum! The first time I completed a run with the family, I was absolutely buzzing. The excitement of skiing down with the kids was just unreal! My mam saw how much I loved it and decided she wanted to give it a go too—so she took a couple of lessons, and by the last day, she skied a little run with us all. The pride on her face was phenomenal. It was the perfect week with family—the skiing was incredible, but so was the time spent just hanging out and enjoying each other’s company.
