I think people misunderstand where the distrust of non-Black parties (it’s completely valid). The distrust stems from the current state of South Africa in itself, yes we are constitutionally apartheid-free, it’s still not the same economically and socially. the common misconception when it comes to apartheid- that it only oppressed black people institutionally but it went far beyond that seeing by the demographic that owned majority of the land back then and still now, the demographic that dominates the top 0.01%, the demographic with lowest rate of unemployment, all these are facts and the common underlying thread is that there was an economic and social oppression of black people by white people. The problem with the current popular non-Black parties (DA and VF+) is that the DA specifically supports Israel, which practices a form of apartheid against the Palestine, and the VF+ is only interested in focusing on Afrikaners (and there’s nothing wrong with this but I don’t see how a black person could vote for them) also it consists of group of parties that joined together to form it including the Conservative Party of during the apartheid period which were absolutely against the end of apartheid and fought for it to be still practiced. Yet, I know very well that they won’t bring back apartheid, I know that they won’t help in alleviating the economic and social parts of it.
