Kool :
I had to do agriculture by correspondence in the sheep wheat belt NSW. Go figure.

CurisoDiablo :
The retraining is also confusing. There are *rules* around retraining, funding and grants and where you end up after retraining. There are a lot of teachers running off rushed readings and YouTube for their knowledge.

I wanted to major in LOTE but my bachelors degree removed the option. Now it’s a postgraduate degree. I’m already familiar with Japanese so this is not necessary. I’m primary trained but would love to study the high school specialist subjects so I can be more flexible. I have not stumbled across the means to facilitate this.

I could not get an interview in a Primary school. Had to go Intermediate. Got the first Intermediate job I applied for. The shortage exists, but its the ability to work with older kids, challenging behaviours, and trickier content.

rural schools have been shit forever but it probably only matters if you absolutely need a 99.90/5 in which case you should have tested into a selective school in the city anyway. I remember there were two in our spesh class and they just left us to our own devices, worked out of the book
