Dane described the moment in his memoir with heartbreaking honesty. "I know I'm facing a D*eath sentence. My life has become a horror movie," he wrote. The actor publicly announced his diagnosis in April 2025. He D*ed on February 19, 2026, at just 53 years old. He left behind his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, and their two daughters, Billie and Georgia.
