@lawithac: 8 townhomes could be coming to a Koreatown block that was once headed for apartments 🏡 A new application to LA City Planning proposes eight 2- and 3-bedroom homes at 146 N. Berendo St., arranged around a shared driveway. The site sits near the Vermont/Beverly Metro station, and the project would use SB 684 and SB 1123, state laws designed to speed up small-lot townhome developments. It’s an early-stage proposal, but it’s another sign that ownership-style housing is finding room in one of LA’s densest neighborhoods. Article via Urbanize LA Hot tips around LA? I'm conflicted on these type of developments. Obvs apartments create more homes than townhomes but the HOAs that come along with them can be much greater thanks to management fees & laws make these townhomes better long term investments. BUT they're nearly always $1m+ so it doesn't help affordability. Lots of pros and cons

It's better than nothing and at least people can get homes while not having to move to other parts of the city that arent as walkable
