I can’t speak for anyone else, but i wouldn’t want someone to let me back into their life on some “consideration or management level” so i think you should let him GTFO! Just this one lie? And if he has sense of reasoning, he would know that you probably lied about the job because you were ashamed… well not necessarily ashamed but you know this thing where you are not proud of the job you’re doing because that’s not what you’d like for yourself… something like that.

She shouldn’t have lied but what’s done is done. However, I honestly think she needs to let this face off happen so he can say everything in his mind and she can decide whether to keep begging or move on. Because I promise you, he has so much more to say than the “I settled for you.” He sounds like he’d hold in to this and use it to discredit you as time goes by. I get it, he was probably disappointed but if he can’t move on from this, he should come out straight and break up. Also, you’re doing well for yourself, don’t let his words get to you.
