They need better laws to protect women from DV … when I went through it the DA on my case literally was trying to convenience me to not take it to court because “i have a chance of losing” and if i settle for a plea deal at least he’s guaranteed some discipline. The truth was she didn’t want to go through the paperwork or having to time out of her day to show up in court. His “discipline” was a no jail time and some anger management classes. This was also not his first time with DV, he just kept getting lucky enough that the women always dropped the charges. I got tricked into accepting the plea deal they offered him. He continued to harass me through phone (I don’t answer blocked or random numbers now) but left me alone otherwise. I was lucky, most women aren’t.
