@charliejhills: Here's the weird trick that tells you when Claude's getting stupid. Paste this into your instructions: "My first name is [your name]. Start every reply with it, followed by a comma. If any of this chat gets replaced by a summary, stop using it." 1. Go to Settings, Your Claude, Instructions 2. Paste the line in and save it 3. Claude starts every reply with your name 4. When your name drops, Claude's swapped your earlier messages for a summary 5. Copy your brief, start a new chat and paste it in 6. Your name's back That's called a canary, like the bird miners took down to the pit. I tested the exact line in Claude Code. It worked on Opus and Sonnet, 3 out of 3 on each. Haiku kept the name, so it won't warn you there. I haven't run it in the Claude app yet. Summaries need a paid plan and code execution on.
