The education system was built by and for white christian nationalists. It's the same reason there are barely any African American history classes,, the oppressive demographic doesn't want these groups to have recognition.

Because of Homophobia and our society being heteronormative so straight ppl are centered in history 99% of the time and talked about the most. Also the general lack of acknowledgment, potential erasure, and subjection of LGBTQ+ people through out history which made them hide, ignore their feelings, not understand themselves, or refuse to accept themselves. I personally believe the historical hostility impacted the amount of LGBTQ+ historical figures we could’ve gotten.

the czech teacher at my middle school actually mentioned lgbtq figures openly, it was nice to see despite the class openly hating on lgbtq
