Since Trump has entered politic the way people act and when it comes to political/social issues and towards eachother is absolutely vial. I look back at the Obama and McCain race and it makes my heart hurt for how far in the opposite direction this country has gone.

Yes, but even more important than that is the example we set for our children on how we choose to respond to people who treat us with disrespect that comes from a place of pure malice. It’s more important to me that my daughter sees my ability to match that kind of energy fearlessly in a way that propels us toward our goal. Big believers in “you don’t start it, but if someone starts it with you, you finish it.” We are not obligated to be polite to those who harm us. Period.
