@nannychelle91: Sasuage Pinwheels and Britton's Story Cheesy Sausage Pinwheels! ❤️ Y'ALL!!! These SAUSAGE PINWHEELS are SOOOO GOOD!!! 🤤❤️ They're cheesy, savory, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a holiday gathering! And BABY, they're EASY to make!!! I made my own sausage using ground turkey, but you can absolutely use your favorite premade breakfast sausage! Ingredients For the Pinwheels: 1 sheet refrigerated crescent dough (preferably seamless) 1 lb ground turkey or premade breakfast sausage 2 tablespoons yellow mustard 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese ¼ cup chopped green onions Homemade Turkey Sausage Seasoning (for 1 lb ground turkey): 1 teaspoon dried rubbed sage 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon black pepper ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon onion powder ½ teaspoon smoked paprika ½ teaspoon dried thyme ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional) 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for a little sweetness) Instructions Preheat your oven! Set your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Make your homemade sausage! In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground turkey with all the sausage seasonings. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated. If you're using premade breakfast sausage, you can skip this step! Roll out your dough! Lay your refrigerated crescent dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out flat into a rectangle. If using regular crescent rolls, pinch the seams together. Add the sausage! Spread a thin, even layer of the raw seasoned turkey sausage or premade sausage over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Spread the mustard! Spread the yellow mustard evenly over the sausage. Make it cheesy! Sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and chopped green onions over the top. Roll it up! Starting at one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Chill if needed! If the dough has gotten too warm or soft, place the roll in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes. This makes slicing SOOOO much easier! Slice your pinwheels! Cut the log into approximately ½- to ¾-inch slices and place them on your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Bake! Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown. Because the sausage goes into the dough raw, check that the center of each pinwheel reaches 165°F for turkey or 160°F for pork sausage before serving. If needed, continue baking until fully cooked, covering loosely with foil if the dough browns too quickly. Serve and enjoy! Let them cool for a couple of minutes, then serve warm! Nanny Chelle's Tip: BABY, don't skip that SHARP CHEDDAR!!! It gives these little pinwheels SOOOO much flavor!!! 😂❤️ Smile, God loves you! ❤️ #sausage #partyfood #fingerfood #yummy #nannychelle
