Finally scratched the 3-dot traditional Filipino tattoo by the one and only Whang-od off the bucket list and it was nothing short of life changing. She was not in Buscalan, where she typically resides. I had to use every resource imaginable to find her at her home in the middle of nowhere. The multi-day and chaotic (to say the least) journey through Manila, Philippines to find her resulted in the most incredible experience and a deserved feeling for this tattoo. I literally had to sit in a McDonald’s from 3am to 6am using an employee’s hotspot to connect with a relative of hers and pinpoint her exact whereabouts. Just one example of the intricacies of this journey I conducted without a SIM card nor phone service. Thank you, Whang-od.
