@syracuse.com: Shirley L. Morales, the mother of Precious Arzuaga who was the ringleader of a group that kidnapped, tortured and murdered Sam Nordquist, is now charged with helping her daughter. Morales, 56, was arraigned Monday on a sealed indictment charging her with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping and second-degree conspiracy, the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release. The charges stem from the investigation into Nordquist’s death, prosecutors said. Prosecutors did not detail the specific nature of Morales’ participation in the crime.
