DON’T WAIT UNTIL THEY’RE GONE TO GIVE THEM THEIR FLOWERS. Why do we wait for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations or even funerals to tell people how much they mean to us? My father taught me the beauty of expressing love without needing an occasion. A gentle kiss on my head, a hand on my shoulder, an unexpected “I love you, son. I’m proud of you.” And I did the same, reminding him how much I loved him, appreciated him and cherished his existence. Not because it was a special day, but because he was special to me. To this day, I carry that lesson into every relationship, friendship and connection I hold dear. Because love should never be confined to a calendar. Tell people how their presence makes you believe in magic. How their touch makes you feel warm. How their support makes you feel as though you can fly. Don’t wait until you’re standing before a photograph, wishing you could say the words you kept for another day. One of life’s greatest regrets isn’t always losing someone. It’s realising how much you left unsaid whilst they were still here. Give people their flowers whilst they can still see their beauty, breathe in their fragrance and feel the love with which they were given.
